Gain In-Depth Benefits Knowledge Through the VRS Training Academy
VRS has redesigned and reformatted its Benefits Series online training courses. Part of the VRS Training Academy, each of these 45-minute e-courses is designed to give employers the context and details they need to administer and counsel employees on VRS benefits, including:
- Death in service.
- Disability retirement.
- Hazardous duty.
- Health insurance credit.
- Life insurance.
- Purchase of prior service.
- Refunds and distributions.
- Virginia Local Disability Program (VLDP).
- Virginia Sickness and Disability Program (VSDP).
Each course focuses on principal points and takeaways to help employers process benefits and counsel employees on time-sensitive decisions that impact their retirement benefits. Training materials also have been updated to reflect 2021 legislative changes and new online retirement processes and functionality in myVRS.
