If you are considering retiring in the next six months, VRS has a variety of resources available to help you plan. Check out the Getting Ready to Retire page on the VRS website. You’ll find resources like:
- The recently updated Getting Ready to Retire Guide, which will review benefit payout options, benefits in retirement and other important considerations.
- The Retirement Readiness Checklist.
- Member Education sessions including Your Next Steps (for Plan 1 and Plan 2 members), which walks you through action items as you approach retirement.
- One-on-one counseling appointment registration.
- Step-by-step application instructions.
- myVRS. Use myVRS to estimate your income and expenses in retirement. When you’re ready to retire, most members can retire online through myVRS.
