Can I borrow from my retirement account?

The Code of Virginia does not allow VRS members to borrow from their VRS defined benefit member contribution accounts.

If you participate in the Commonwealth of Virginia 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, you may be eligible to make a withdrawal in certain limited circumstances, such as an unforeseeable emergency, if approved by the plan administrator.
