From how to retire online to how to choose the benefit payout option right for you, there’s a lot to learn when it comes to retirement. But you don’t have to figure it out all on your own. VRS provides member education resources to help you navigate retirement.

For those with fewer than 12 months before retirement, this session will walk you through the retirement application process. Topics include important action items, retiring online through myVRS, as well as post-retirement considerations and VRS resources.

One of the key steps to financial planning before retirement is choosing the benefit payout option that will best meet your needs. Learn more about the payout options available to you. Also, gain insights into retirement eligibility and how VRS calculates your benefit.

Wednesday, October 18, 2-3 p.m.

Planning to retire in the next five years? This presentation will guide you through important decisions, such as when to retire and selecting a benefit payout option.

Health Insurance Credit (Plan 1 or Plan 2, Hybrid Retirement Plan)

Thursday, November 9, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Learn about the health insurance credit, who is eligible, how it’s calculated and how to claim it. The credit provides you with a reimbursement to help with the cost of your health insurance premiums. It is added to your monthly retirement benefit.
